LANC aims to provide a safe environment where children, young people and adults can train for and play netball matches. As a performance club, training and match play takes place within a competitive environment, and we are conscious of the responsibility of coaches, team administrators, club officials, volunteers, and parents/carers of players, for the protection of our children and young people.
England Netball has developed a ‘Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Netball Policy, Procedures and Guidelines’ that it recommends to all individuals involved in netball whether in a paid or voluntary capacity.
In line with England Netball recommendations, we have appointed a Safeguarding Officer, Susie Stead, who can be contacted on 07985 001477, or by email at susiestead@hotmail.com. Susie will do her best to make herself known to players and parents/carers.
A copy of our ‘Be Safe’ poster containing contact information can be downloaded for display and future reference.
As a club we are constantly working towards implementing the England Netball policies, procedures and guidelines in the pursuit of the best possible safeguards for protecting children in our club and the wider community. These documents can be found below:
We strongly recommend that everyone connected with LANC in whatever capacity, and especially parents, read and abide by, the ‘Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Netball Policy, Procedures and Guidelines.
